Chiefs Say Goodbye to Blackmore

Hello Art Junkin

Pre-Season 2088 (Chief's Training Camp) - It's no secret Kyle Bennington has nailed down the starting Qb job with the Chiefs. He took over the helm his third season, after Flint retired, and he has not looked back. He has posted at least 20 TD's the past three seasons, and his QB rating was 2nd in the league those 3 seasons as well, unable yet to surpass the legendary Stalker.

That brings us to Arnie Blackmore. He was claimed off waivers a year after Bennington was drafted and has shown much improvement. 'He deserves a chance somewhere,' said Chief's GM Harrison. 'Detroit runs the spread offense and with Todd Carroll ready to step down soon, Arnie should have a chance there.'

'Hello Art Junkin,' continued Harrison. 'We have been runing the ball well here lately and Art knows he won't be the feature back. Tyronne and Bennie carry the load. Art will spell Tyronne and see some Special Teams duties. He will bring some great leadership to the team, just like Mike Pretence does.'

The Chiefs have some great depth at RB. Pretence and Junkin could probably still be starting somewhere. It wasn't that long ago when Junkin won the rushing crown. Last season was the first in a long time that a Chief RB scored 10 or more TD's and I see that stat continuing for a long time. The draft day trade that brought Massey is further proof that Kansas City is committed to running the ball, and doing it well.
