Giants ride four overtime victories to a 5-0 record
By "Chris Allen"

Regular Season 2091 (Philadelphia, PA) - The New York Giants are currently the surprise team of the 2091 USAFL campaign.

'Four overtimes. Wow! We could easily be 1-4 right now, but we're hanging in there and not quitting. It's an amazing ride right now. Sure, we played our first four games at home but I think we have what it takes to be a playoff team.' Halfback Kevin Wood said following the Giants week 5 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, which was in overtime.

-- Patriots Also 5-0
Gibson hopes to go out on top.

The New England Patriots are off to a great start in what is sure to be future Hall of Famer Sam Gibson's final season.

'It's awesome what this team's done so far.' Gibson said following the Patriots week 5 victory over the Baltimroe Ravens. 'We're firing on all cylinders right now.'

'We wanna win this one for Sammy.' Patriots halfback Keith Bench said. 'He's one of the all time greats and we just can't let him leave without one last championship.'

-- TV Execs Hope Giants and Patriots Can Keep Rolling
Ratings potential for the Super Bowl could be huge with that matchup.

One of the biggest USAFL storylines over the past few years is the crashing and burning of former #1 overall pick Evan Green. Green was traded following the 2089 season from the Giants to the Patriots. Since both teams have exploded from the starting gate with 5-0 records, some television executives from the Fox network are hoping both teams can go all the way to the Super Bowl.

'It's a huge story. Green disappointed and was cut loose, and now he's looking for revenge. The Giants are also looking for revenge on him for swindling them out of money. This is a matchup people want to see.' A Fox Executive said.

-- Close but no cigar
Houston rallies to tie Pittsburgh but loses on field goal.

The Houston Texans' losing streak just keeps rolling on, but it almost came to an end in week 1.

The Steelers rolled to a 17-0 lead and were up 24-7 at the half. However in the second half, the Texans rallied to tie the game at 24, only to lose after a field goal with 2:42 minutes left in the game. A Texans two minute drill fell short when they couldn't convert on fourth down.

'There's no way he were gonna lose to those guys.' Steelers HB Casey Oliver said following the game. Oliver cracked 200 yards on 31 carries in the opening week victory.

'We almost had it.' Texans QB Steve Milstead said. 'Hey, at least we didn't let Pittsburgh run away with the game. We're getting close to our first victory in a long, long time. I can feel it.'

The Texans then dropped their next four games, but there's a bit of confidence in the Texans' locker room that they can start winning games very soon. A rematch with the Steelers, in Houston, is coming up in week 10.
