Cleveland Hopes To Rebuild

It might be a long road

Off-Season 2079 (Cleveland, OH) - Cleveland hopes to rebuild a franchise that has certainly seen better days. I had a few moments to speak with the Browns GM, James Barr and he had some ver colorful things to say about the teams progression since he has taken over.

'Obviously I have a lot of learning to do. I am an accomplished baseball GM but football is something sort of new to me. I have been giving it my all and hopefully in a few years we will have something in Cleveland that the fans can be proud of.'

Mr. Barr is very motivated to succeed and his owner as well as the players seem to have every confidence that he will turn things around in Cleveland.

'We have had a few good drafts lately, and we should really start to see things take off. The rookies have had a few years to mature and we picked up a veteran DL to help out our Franchise Player, Mark Caldwell.'

Some still have questions about Barr's roster management, especially after the most recent number one overall pick, Baxter Nickerson. We asked Barr what his rationale was with making that pick.

'We feel that we really have to beef up or defense. I know what some will say though. Its true, we couldn't score last year, but we were going with a new system, and a new quaterback. Things didn't work out, but its not a matter of talent. Teams win championships with defense, and that is the way that we are going to get there.'

Mr. Barr seems to feel very strongly about this theory. He maintains that he will continue to strengthen the defense, and try to put an offense on the field that can score just enough to win games.
