FLYING BEARS

Bears Move Up and Down the Draft Board
By "Otis Tackleberry"

Off-Season 2101 (Chicago, IL.) - The Bears seem be making trades these days for the sake of making trades. At the beginning of the off-season, they shocked everyone by passing up on QB Monte Owen and trading out of the top 10, acquiring two first round picks in the process. Now, on draft day, they have made a move to get back into the top 10. The Bears traded promising edge rusher Deion Hall to Oakland, in addition to the 15th overall pick and three future fourth round picks, in exchange for the 8th overall pick.

The Bears moved up 7 spots in the draft, but gave up quite a bit to get there. Trading away Deion Hall was a shock, but makes sense. Deion Hall is an edge-rusher at linebacker, and in the Bears 4-6 scheme, they need to focus on a strong defensive line.

Some people are already calling this a panic move, stating that Z-Bo Zabroski should have never given up the #1 overall pick... and should have never traded out of the top 10. Hoping to calm the critics, GM Z-Bo Zabroski released the statement, 'I am deeply grateful for the encouragement and endless patience of our fans.'
