Off-Season 2103 (Houston, Tx) - As he prepares to enter his final season as the Texans signal caller, Quarterback Steve Milstead is 572 yards from immortality. He will join 7 other historic quarterbacks in the 50,000 yard club, and assuming he matches his career average, he will be third all time behind only Sonny Vail and Art Tang.

Joining the club is not only a personal milestone, it’s a franchise milestone. Milstead would join Floyd Welborne in making the Texans the only franchise in league history with 2 50K passers, a feat that is not lost on Milstead. “50K is special, but joining the man that built football in Houston is amazing. It’s a tremendous honor to break that barrier.”

His career didn’t start out like a 50K passer, 10-30 107, 11-31 120 and 7-30 87. It wasn’t until week 4 against Minnesota where he showed why he was taken 9th overall. In that game he went 21 for 45 with 377 yards passing. It was then that Sicher knew he had a gem.

Earlier this season in week 12, Milstead set another amazing record, becoming the first player in league history to pass for 500 yards in a game for the second time. His 512 yard game ranks second all time behind Randy Williamson of the 2008 Bills squad who passed for 525 against Oakland.

The following is the list of 500 yard games.

525 – Randy Williamson, BUF, 2008 vs Oakland
512 – Steve Milstead, HOU, 2102 vs Miami
510 – Steve Neill, CHI, 2096, at Washington
506 – Carlos Rolfe, 2023, at Green Bay
505 – Steve Milstead, HOU, 2100 vs Baltimore
503 – Charlie Hash, MIN, 2037 at Arizona
