Edwards demands trade!

11 year vet upset at losing starting job
By "Bucky Katz"

Off-Season 2104 (Charlotte) - Veteran TE Lance Edwards demanded a trade from the Carolina Panthers, the team he has spent his entire career with, when he learned he had lost his starting job, a source with the team disclosed today.

Edwards was informed of the team's decision by the famed Thai head coach Mai Kham Phuter at mini-camp yesterday, one prompted by the emergence of young Jeff Bernard at his tight end position, and the presence of two other young tight ends on the roster.

The Panthers will try to accomodate the request. There is also the remote chance he may get a free agent offer.

'Lance could give someone a couple of pretty good years yet,' Carolina GM 'Trader' Lee Remley commented. 'If someone is interested in his services, of course we'll try to give him a chance to play elsewhere.'
