A Grandberg Arrives In Green Bay

Packers GM honored with fifth Spirit Award

Off-Season 2107 (Green Bay) - Immediately following the 'Bill Trudeau' press conference, held in the Packers 'Century of Champions' auditorium, longtime Green Bay GM Todd Ricotta was observed opening up a FedEx 'OneHour' delivery package and pulling out his fifth 'Garritt Grandberg USA Sports Spirit Award'.

Ricotta was visibly surprised with the contents of the package and offered a 'No Comment' when pushed for a public reaction.

The are reports that Ricotta has been spending the bulk of his off-season involved in one of Commissioner Lewis' Ultra-Squad committees.

'The USAFL is proud of it's tradition with the Ultra commitee program,' said an un-named league office insider. 'Previous Ultra programs created the league's current Free Agency system, the highly sought after Scheme system, and the efficient Waiver Wire Claim process that only takes milliseconds to complete.'

The source would not elaborate on what the league's current Ultra-Squad is working on, only to say that Ricotta was being honored for his recent work with revitalizing the league's Special Teams.

Last week, Commissioner/Founder Andrew Lewis announced that as of next season, 2108, the USAFL will require that all offensive and defensive starters will no longer be allowed to participate on Special Teams - with exception to the certain linemen duties on Punts and FG/PATs.

Ricotta was mentioned as a key contributor to the research behind the Special Teams 2108 ruling.

Fans of the USAFL are looking forward to 2108 and getting a chance to see more playing time for players that are working hard to be the league's superstars of tomorrow.
