The Chiefs Are Back!

Toliver Gets A Second Chance
By "Yawn Stenerud"

Playoffs 2107 (Kansas City, MO) - The Dolphins did the Chiefs a favor by knocking off the Bills, and their 'thank you' was a sound beating. And now, the Chiefs are back in the Sundby Cup. It's been 7 long seasons since Kansas City has been here. They lost in 2100 to Minnesota, 10-7.

Toliver has been starting since 2098, and now, in his 11th season, he is recognized as one of the premier QB's in the league. He set the modern era 4,522 yards passing record in 2105. He is on the most yards passing in a season list, 2 out of the top 5 and five times total in the top 21.

Toliver was sacked 66 times this season and faces a defense that has shredded offensive lines all season to the tune of 108 sacks. However, one of Greg's biggest asset's is his mobility, and he will definitely be called upon to move around. 'I like to think we have one of the better offensive lines,' GM Harrison said. 'Sure Greg was sacked 66 times, but he attempted 554 passes. So that works out to be one sack every 8 or 9 attempts, about 4 a game. If we can keep those Bear LB's off of Greg, we'll be ok.'

As much press as the Bears' defense has been getting, guys like DE Orazio and LB Figaro feel like the Chiefs are not getting the respect they deserve. The Chief's defense is third in the league overall. The Chiefs are playing the underdog role and are waiting for their chance to prove their version of the '46' defense is just as good. Also, it might be worthy to note that the Bears have not faced a spread offense this season. Toliver leads the KC passing attack like a surgeon. Soon, we will find out how good he is.
