Pre-Season 2109 (Houston, TX) - As expected, the Texans announced that DT Ray Nunn has signed a franchise player contract that doubles his salary to $8 million a year. The former #4 overall pick in 2106, Nunn has amassed 46 tackles, 8 sacks including a safety and 2 fumble recoveries his role as defensive tackle going from reserve to starter.

In contrast to the expected announcement, stunning news came out of Houston where projected starting halfback and top pick Merv Romine was announced as starting fullback. 'He came in to camp with a work ethic that is not up to Texans standards. He didnt show the breakaway speed.'

Last years starter Travis Bernard will once again carry the load, but backup Mike Chez is expected to push him throughout the season for the starting job.
