Ricotta Honored To Receive 2116 GMOY Nod

By "AP - Green Bay"

Off-Season 2117 (Green Bay) - Green Bay GM Todd Ricotta stopped to speak with reporters after the USAFL held its annual Sports Writers Association gala event last evening, and was his usual self when addressing the media.

'I'm extremely grateful for this honor, and as I expressed to each of the SWA members that I had a chance to speak with earlier this evening...I appreciate the recognition.'

And when reminded that this was his first GMOY since winning the award 46 seasons ago in 2170, Ricotta was quick to note...'I've been runner up for the award 8 times since then, so those 46 seasons have gone by in a blink.'

Asked if winning the award was bittersweet given his team's downright embarrassing performance in the Divisional Round of the 2116 playoffs, Ricotta started to reply but took an urgent phone call from assistant GM Matt Ginnow. Within seconds of taking the call, Ricotta abruptly departed the event while ranting feverishly about retirement papers that had been filed with the league offices earlier that day...is the stress of running this storied franchise beginning to take its toll on the long tenured GM? Could he be looking to make a change? Time, as it always does, will tell all...
