Playoffs 2119 (East Rutherford, NJ) - Giants Stadium was nearly deserted for the final home game of the season, and the attendance was an all time low for the league.

Only 87 fans showed up for the Giants 30-27 loss to the Washington Redskins, and those fans were basically picketing the product on the field and in the front office.

'Every team is showing signs of improvement, and our team is not.' enraged fan Todd Dunlawton said when asked about why he'd bother showing up to a game. 'The players and front office don't care about the product on the field, so why should we. We've organized this protest in order to draw attention to the plight of the fans. We've been longtime fans, and this product, this garbage, is simply no longer acceptable. Our best player is far worse than the worst player on any other team in the league. It's not right. We demand justice.'

The Giants then went on a three game road trip to end the season. They went 1-2 on the trip, finishing at 5-9, and fans throughout these three weeks have been calling for changes.

A fan calling into a local sports talk radio station has declared 'Doomsday' for the Giants.

'I can safely predict that this team is finishing 0-14 for the next decade.' the unidentified caller stated with anger and frustration in his voice. 'The Giants are garbage. Our team, our players are [expletive deleted]. We might be going into Doomsday, as far as I'm concerened. I've never seen a team playing and run this badly before in my life, and I played on a high school team that only won two games my entire time there. At least our guys tried despite losing by 50 points almost every game. Are the Giants going to draft yet another bust or what?'

New York sports fans have always been declaring doom and gloom for their teams even when they are going into slight struggles, but a lot of concern might be warranted.

An unidentified league source told Sports Illustrated that they will be looking into the activities of the Giants to see if they are truly fielding a competitive team, and will step in if they feel that there is something going on.

'We've received cards and letters, almost numbering 60,000 from angry Giants fans thinking that there is something going on with the team.' the source said. 'It started with a Giants fan site and has blown up since then. We're still getting hundreds of cards and letters every day asking us to look into what is going on. These fans feel abandoned by the Giants franchise.'
