Will they be finer in Carolina?

Panthers hope for better things with new players

Off-Season 2129 (Charlotte) - The Carolina Panthers welcomed their first round draft picks to minicamp this week with high expectations.

They hope new QB Brian Nelson will be a classic. They hope new HB Dave Jones will be more famous than the guy from the Monkees. They hope Chris Martin won't give them cold play at WR. Finally, they hope Keith Fillers will be more than a filler at LB.

Newly acquired veterans Eric McDaniel, Ronnie Massey, and Monty Sanders hope to revitalize a lackluster defensive line from last year. On the other side of the ball, veterans Chester Barr and Steve Castle hope to bolster an offensive line that has been aging and ineffective.

Most observers have been noncommittal on the Panthers chances. Even the normally verbose GM 'Trader' Lee Remley has been silent on the subject. But with the number of moves made by the Panthers front office this offseason, there definitely is an effort to turn those last two seasons results around, Time will tell if the efforts pay off.
