Washington's Management Swaps Positions

Breeden now GM, Weimann AGM: New Direction for the Team
By "Gary Gray"

Off-Season 2137 (Washington, DC) - Washington Redskins owner Darryl Green IX called an urgent press conference today.

'We have located Daniel Weimann,' Mr. Green announced.

Missing for nearly a decade, General Manager Weimann had apparently pursued still undisclosed personal matters during his time away. He was not present at the conference.

Just prior to his mysterious absence, Weimann hired Ben Breeden as assistant general manager. Since that time, under Breeden's watch, the Redskins have endured the lowest of the lows but have enjoyed the highest of the highs. Winless, painful seasons and dominant championship teams are now commonplace experiences for Washington fans.

In Daniel's absence, he sent a brief message--read by Mr. Green--to the organization and its fans: 'I regret that I have been unable to more actively participate in this wonderful organization. Personal matters have prevented me from fully enjoying this game. As of today, I would like to relinquish my duties as general manager to Mr. Breeden. He has done an excellent job and I have the fullest confidence that he will continue to do so. I am not resigning from the organization entirely and instead would like to remain with the team as an Assistant General Manager.

However, before I officially hand the reigns to my successor, I must implement a directive to the organization and to Mr. Breeden. From this season forward, do not rebuild the team. My desire has always been to win and to win consistently. While I certainly appreciate the championship trophies that grace our lobby, I think it is important to the fans that their team remains competitive every year. Please follow my resignation wish that the Washington Redskins win every single year. No more winless seasons, no more fire-sales of future draft picks. Build for the long term. Build for success, each and every year.

I will return as an active member of this league before long. In the mean time, best wishes to the Redskins organization and to the league.'
