Hall To Get His Pass?

$30 million dollar contract offered by Washington

Off-Season 2083 (Green Bay) - Green Bay Packers' defensive lineman Albert Hall and his agent Clarke Wilson III arrived at Packers' headquarters yesterday and presented the contract offer that Hall received earlier in the day from the Washington Redskins.

The contract, believed to be valued at more than $30 million per year in bonuses, base salary and incentives, may be too rich for even Packers' GM Todd Ricotta to absorb.

The self-proclaimed 'master of the cap' told league sources that he will spend the better part of today reviewing his team's salary structure and talking with league GMs about trade options that would free up the necessary cap space to resign Hall.

Ricotta, when reached for comment had the following to say. 'We prepared for this several years ago when we dealt away close to 50 million in future draft picks spanning the 2080, 2081, 2082 and 2083 seasons. We will have no problem retaining Albert if we choose to do so -- but that choice will be based not on salary, but whether we feel he can live up to such a contract offer for the remainder of his career with his contributions on the field. We appreciate what he has done for us the past 5 seasons since coming over from Oakland, and we are certain we wouldn't have enjoyed the same level of success had he not been on the team -- but that said, I have the future of this team to think about and what has happened over the past 5 seasons factors very little in to that equation.'
