Buccaneers Welcome Rookies to Mini-Camp

New Tampa Bay GM enters fray with a bang
By "Lee Roy Selmon III"

Off-Season 2083 (Tampa) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers opened mini-camp today with 16 wide eyed rookies from this year's draft arriving to join the veterans.

After drafting 16 players and making 10 trades, the Bucs look a lot different this year.

'I was going for Flip's record of rookies on the roster but I think I came up short,' Remley joked with reporters at his daily press briefing.

Veteran GMs around the league are saying that new GM 'Trader' Lee Remley had a good draft Monday evening, bringing players such as first overall pick LB Brent Altenhoff, LB Ernie Harley, CB Julius Yeary, and WR Kelly Kurtz in to wear the red and gold. With all those rookies, it is a foregone conclusion that Tampa Bay will hit gold with some of them at least.

The Bucs feel that bringing in veteran QB Frank Moore and WR Roger Graham as his main target can't help but improve the passing game, especially with several speedy rookies to throw to in addition to the veteran Graham.

Word is the Bucs may not be done yet. They are expected to match free agent offers to two of their returning veterans and are rumored to be after another player also. Several veterans are also on the trade block to make way for these rookies.

All in all, it looks like a better year for the Bucs.
