Minnesota Inks Three...but Confusion Abounds

Vikes hand out $255mil more in contracts to an already solid OL

Off-Season 2248 (Minneapolis, ME) - The Vikings announced the signing of three offensive linemen tonight to high-priced, long term contracts. While this would be a boon to most teams, it left fans scratching their heads. Minnesota already sported a very solid starting five before free agency and now has a significant glut of talent. At the same time, the team has continued to shed veterans from the defense.

In signing Byron Rouse (PHI), Steve Leiker (GB), and Lucas Bandajek (KC), the Vikings now have 8 starting caliber players on the offensive line. But holes abound on the defensive side of the ball. This was compounded when shortly after the signings were announced Minnesota shipped out three more defensive starters to Philadelphia. When asked what the heck was going on, GM Lou Lombardo preached patience. 'We were certainly surprised to land all three players today. But, you have to go after the talent that is available. Our team may look a bit lopsided now, but it will correct itself in time. Maybe we will start practicing on some jumbo packages.'

It's obvious that there are other shoes still left to drop. For now, maybe some of those high priced linemen might be best served taking snaps on the other side of the ball.
