Bills' Berkley Believes He'll Paint His Own Legacy

QB takes over for longtime incumbent Roger Painter
By "Allen Wilson VI"

Pre-Season 2265 (Orchard Park, NY) - It is a new era for the Buffalo Bills. It was announced today that Christian Berkley will be the starting QB after he won the competition in training camp over rookies DJ Rudolph and Keith Hill. 'Winning the competition may be a bit of hyperbole' quipped GM Mark Ricotta. 'No offense to Rudolph or Hill, but......yeesh.' Berkley was a supplemental draft pick in 2263 out of the University of Miami, Fla.

Berkley now has the honor of trying to fill the shoes of Roger Painter, who retired at the end of last season. After taking over as the starter before the 2253 season, Painter completed 59.4% (3321 of 5589) of his passes, throwing for 37,664 yards with 244 TDs and 90 INTs. He retired with a career passer rating of 87.5. In his 12 seasons, Painter amassed a regular season record of 132-35-1, including that magical undefeated 2256 season.

Painter was the heart and soul of the Bills, winning back-to-back Sundby Cups in 2256 - 2257, and leading them to three straight appearances from 2261 - 2263, which unfortunately were all losses. Fans could never get over those three in a row.

So now Berkley goes under center to begin painting his own legacy. His canvass is blank. Will it be a masterpiece? Or a piece of crap? Time will tell...
