Panthers Fans Up In Arms

Carolina stands pat, many fans not happy

Off-Season 2293 (Charlotte) - He is being called a cheapskate. Some even have renamed him 'Traitor Lee'.

After the Panthers came up a field goal short last season, fans were expecting some changes to get their team over the hump.

What they heard was mostly crickets.

Other than replacing an aging running back with a younger model, the Carolina Panthers haven't made many changes, and their fans are hopping mad.

'He hasn't done nothin,' one complains.

'Why does he still have a job if he is going to sit on his ,' another says.

'What are they paying him for?' a third complains.

You hear a lot in a sports bar.

The answer is obvious. The salary cap and the team is up against it.

'If you look closely, there's not as much activity anywhere, outside of teams pffloading picks or salary,' the individual in question, Panthers GM 'Trader' Lee Remley says. 'You just have to make do with the cap room you have.'

The team's fans expect a lot of their GM and he delivered them a Sundby Cup appearance last year when the experts did not expect it. But they expect the team to finish the deal this time around as a result.

'We know what we're doing here,' Remley said. 'It's not like we started this team yesterday.'

We'll see if they can pull another Championship off before this team's window closes.
