Panthers Raven about new acquisitions

Carolina completes trading offseason by adding ex-Baltimore duo

Off-Season 2330 (Charlotte) - The Carolina Panthers completed a busy offseason by adding former league MVP HB Calvin Bolton and WR Leonard Zeller to the roster for draft picks.

Nolton fits into the long-term answer at HB for the club. He is a classic Carolina HB, both tough and fast.

Zeller looks to compete for the coveted WR1 spot on the club and gives them a deep WR group for QB Steve Walker in any case.

In addition, the team picked up FB Tony Carr from the Vikings, who is probably more of a long-term answer at FB as the RB room is aging and getting quite full.

'I bet Woody Hayes would have us run the old wishbone offense with this bunch,' GM 'Trader' Lee Remley joked with the media. 'We just keep adding to a good group of guys,' he added seriously. 'We are positioning ourselves now and in future years with not much draft capital for a while.'

In other news, word is the competition for starting QB is heating up, with David Whitefield really challenging for the starting job. Could he actually win the job over their long-time starter Walker?

'We look at all options to improve the club,' Remley said enigmatically.

Stay tuned.
