Buffalo's Bates Bewildered By Bills' Belief in Bower
Rookie 1st round pick didn't start one game

(Orchard Park, NY) - Bills fans wondering why 1st round rookie QB Lukas Bates didn't start a single game aren't alone. 'They never gave me a reason' said Bates when asked why he didn't play. 'It was nothing but silence. From the GM on down to the coaches. It's like they never even realized what they were doing.'
The Bills inexplicably started Pete Bower, a supplemental draft pick, over Bates, who was taken with the 3rd overall pick in the 2384 draft. That's the highest the Bills have selected a QB in probably 200 years. Bates is supposed to be the engine that drives this franchise to more Sundby Cups.
When asked to comment, Bills' GM Mark Ricotta declined. Sources say the GM had too much going on in his life and wasn't paying attention. I guess we'll never know.
