Jones Wins NAACP Award

Despite playoff loss, Ravens quarterback honored

Playoffs 2091 (Baltimore) - Despite an awful thrashing given to the Baltimore Ravens by perennial favorite Buffalo, the week wasn't quite so bad for one Raven. Courtney Jones, the team's starting quarterback, was honored last night at an NAACP award ceremony for his contribution to the African-American community of Baltimore.

'It really is an honor,' said Jones of the award. 'I'd like to think I give back as much as humanly possible to the city. Hopefully, I'll be giving back a championship someday soon.'

Jones became the first African-American quarterback to play for the Ravens in a playoff game in Sunday's loss against Buffalo.
