Toliver Making Good on Deal

Newly Added WR Teising Making Impact
By "Susan Okoye"

Regular Season 2101  - QB Greg Toliver signed a franchise contract before the season started and he is already paying dividends for the Chiefs. His current 8.9 yards per attempt is shattering the previous record of 8.4 held by Chip Butler, 2096 Lions. Greg has 25 TD's thru 10 games, which puts him on pace to throw 35, also surpassing a record held by Steve Neill, 2095 Chicago. Steve threw 32 TD's that season.

Toliver had this to say after a recent game, 'Warren Moon has been a tremendous help. Steve (Harrison) said he wanted to get me some help with the new offense and I can't tell you how much Warren has helped. Everybody is playing well. And what a difference Sam (Teising) is making too. He is stretching the field and allowing the other guys to get open underneath. He's already over 1,000 yards receiving and only has 50 some catches. I've held on to the ball too long at times and it has cost us some down and distance and hurt our opportunities in some games, but I'll get better. I love this offense and this team, Greatness is just around the corner.'

Getting lost in the limelight is HB Curtis Ridgle. A huge part of the success of the pasing game is due to Ridgle's 1183 yards rushing in 10 games. He is currently third in the league in rushing yards.

'It is a little overwhelming, the success we are having on offense already,' GM Steve Harrison said. 'I have to give all the credit to Warren, he's done a great job with the Greg and the receivers. We still have 4 VERY tough games to win if we want to continue playing into January. Even so, we're playing great ball and we're fun to watch.'

#1 overall pick, DL Tom Doleman, has 1 sack so far this season. He is backing up Hiram Chute at RDE and hasn't seen a ton of playing time. The Chiefs still believe Tom has huge potential and didn't draft him with the thought he would be starting right away.
