Pre-Season 2106 (Albany, NY) - It was touch and go for awhile, but the Giants were able to retain the services of reigning MVP Monte Owen.

'The media likes to throw a wrench into things.' GM Joe Malloy said at a preseason press conference to announce the signing of Owen to a franchise player deal. 'Owen was upset at the time, and we couldn't blame him. The media made a big deal out of a discarded plan for next season. Luckily, we were able to come to an agreement.'

'This was an ugly offseason. It all started with the Super Bowl, then the coaches getting fired for only allowing Lee (Klein) to rush the ball two times in the Super Bowl when we could've done something on the ground.' Owen said. 'Then Kenny (Maxiner) got arrested for running around Seaside Heights drunk and in the nude. Now that was ugly! Anyway, the team went into camp with one purpose in mind, and that's to win the Super Bowl. I think despite benefitting from a bad schedule last year, this team is capable of winning games against just about anyone in this league. I want to be a part of a championship team, and I believe that this team is a championship team. Let's put it all behind us and get ready to kick some butt.'
