Panthers celebrate Sundby Cup win
By "Bucky Katz"

Off-Season 2107 (Charlotte) - The parade in downtown Charlotte is finished now, and all that is left is the aftermath as the Carolina Panthers celebrate their first USAFL championship under GM 'Trader' Lee Remley.

'It was a long time coming,' Remley said in the team's press conference this morning. 'A lot of people have worked long and hard for this.'

Seven Panthers decided to go out on top, as safety Addison Otto, defensive linemen Tony Strickland and John Harrison, wide receiver Jeff Payne, tackle North Duncan, cornerback Lane Hein, and tight end Ric Brown retired.

'They were all an important part of this championship,' halfback Leonard Castillo commented after making his Disney World commercial. 'We're going to miss them.'

Perhaps the most surprising news of the post-championship celebration was the announcement that the Panthers were switching to a 3-4 defensive scheme.

'With the retirements on the defensive line and our strength at linebacker, defensive coordinator See Pi Yu thought it would be a better scheme for us,' Remley pointed out.

If the defensive shows improvement under the new scheme and the offense stays strong, the Panthers will be well positioned to defend their title.
