Toliver Still Has 'The Stuff'

On Pace to Break His Own Record

Regular Season 2108  - At 34 years of age, most QB's are wrapping up their careers tutoring a young QB, holding a clipboard on the sideline. Not Greg Toliver.

He is determined this season to take the Chiefs back to the Sundby Cup. 'I worked my tail off this past off-season,' he said. 'That game', (championship vs the Bears), 'is still on my mind - I gave the Bears too many easy points. This past week, losing to them again, I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I am. Suffice it to say, they WON'T beat us again this season. Whatever it takes, we're going to beat them, should the matchup come up again.'

Predictions aside, he has channeled the fire and turned in some powerful performances already this season. Consider the Bears' game even, 21 of 34 for 393 yards and 3 TD's. His 333 yards per game average thru 5 games would break his season record by a little over 100 yards.

WR Marcel Ayers is also seeming to get better with age, already hauling in 8 touchdowns and averaging a whopping 19.4 yards per catch, not bad for a 31 year old.

The whole Chief's offense is firing on all cylinders as HB Monico is turning in a good season as the USAFL's second leading rusher with 600 yards thru 5 games.

The week eight matchup vs Buffalo might be an AFC Championship preview.
