Super Safety Clyde Bench For MVP

One Of The Best Seasons For a Safety In League History...
By "Otis Tackleberry"

Playoffs 2109 (Chicago, IL.) - 76 Tackles. 8 Sacks. 5 Interceptions. 1 Fumble Recovery.

For a Safety.

Clyde Bench has had some outstanding seasons in recent years, but none have compared to 2109. All over the field, Bench led one of the best Big Play Defenses in recent memory. Although the league does not keep track of takeaways, the Bears' 38 takeaways is the most in league history. While the Bears defense has set numerous league records over the past several seasons, Clyde Bench has been the quiet man directing the defense and making sure the secondary was in the right position, even down to correcting inside-out shoulder position.

When you run the 4-6 Defense, technique is everything. Bench proved that this year, putting cornerbacks Terry Werner and Richard Maryland in perfect position for 4 interceptions a piece. Not only that, but the Bears' secondary was in such perfect position to make the big play all season long, scoring 5 touchdowns off interceptions, and all thanks to Clyde Bench.

Bench also put himself in position for 5 interceptions, leading the team in turnovers, including 1 fumble recovery, with 6 total.
