Who Will be the Next Chiefs' Signal-Caller

A QB Controversy is Brewing
By "Scotty Kincaid"

Pre-Season 2112 (St Louis, MO) - Ricky Brown has waited 9 seasons on the Chiefs' bench, carrying a clipboard, waiting for his chance to start. And then Chiefs' GM Harrison, out of the blue, signs Alonzo Perry after Detroit unceremoniously cut him. 'Alonzo brings a lot to the table,' Harrison said in a press conference. 'Not to mention he is two years younger than Ricky and a heckuva lot more mobile. Ricky will have every chance to earn the starting job, but let's face it, he is not Greg Toliver.'

The Chiefs also drafted QB Randolph Barnett, out of Toledo, who led the Rockets to a MAC Championship, but lost to Nevada in the Motor City Bowl. Barnett still needs some time to mature as a USAFL QB, so it was not surprising to see the Chiefs sign Perry. I can see Brown starting this season, and depending how he does, maybe Perry next season. But you never know with Harrison maintaining control over the roster.
