Thul Collects 2nd Grandberg

League awards Baltimore GM for national contributions

Off-Season 2116 (Philadelphia) - Just hours after receiving word that he won his second Tim Arkwright GM of the Year award, Baltimore Ravens GM Mark Thul was given advance notice that he will be named the 2115 Garritt Grandberg USA Sports Spirit Award for his national contributions to the USA Football League.

In what can only be described as bittersweet - after watching his beloved Ravens dominate the league going 12-1-1 only to fall to the Houston Texans at home in the AFC Championship Game, 13-10 - and held scoreless in the second half with two Russ Hoge FG attempts sailing wide - Thul is reportedly considering sweeping changes in the middle management structure of his franchise. Those changes included the surprise hiring of an AGM, Addam Brown (a scouting executive from the professional baseball world).

USA Football League Founder/Commissioner Andrew Lewis will formally award the Grandberg to Thul at next week's 2116 College Draft, held at the prestigious OMNI Franklin Executive Hotel Suites in Philadelphia, PA.

Thul's first Grandberg was a rare event as he was the first AGM to be honored by the league with a Spirit Award. The media attention reportedly resulted in Thul's leaving the Minnesota Vikings for New England Patriots. Thul was offered the Ravens GM post within a year of winning his first Grandberg.

There were rumors that the new Ravens AGM did the bulk of the work that merited the attention of the USA Sports Spirit Committee. The Ravens front office was not returning calls in regards to this matter.
