Giants Fans Grow Impatient

Longtime Giants fans start questioning Malloy's decisions

Off-Season 2119 (Albany, NY) - With the lack of success since the last Giants Super Bowl victory, many longtime Giants fans are starting to turn away from the product.

'We're not developing guys that we can call our own. It seems like every team has superstar players but the Giants.' longtime fan, truck driver Nick Monroe said.

His friend, accountant Greg Allen agreed. 'We've drafted many busts that I have to wonder if our GM is losing his touch. It seems like there's been development issues, or the scouting is way off. There really are no outstanding players on this team anymore.'

For the first time in Giants history, there is no waiting list. Fans are not re-upping their season tickets, and there are several packages still available with fantastic seats, where people formerly would have to wait decades for a chance to get tickets on the 50 yard line.

'It's easy to get tickets now.' data entry clerk Phillip McCord said. 'Even the scalpers are feeling the pinch. Nobody's wanting to come to the games. I wonder if change is going to have to be made.'

Local sports talk radio station WFAN has been taking a high volume of calls calling for GM Joe Malloy's resignation.

'People are simply tired of what's going on in the organization.' Evening host Steve Somers the 5th said. 'They don't feel like there's the talent to compete. Guys like Shane Malone and Gene Wright have not turned out as well as everyone had hoped. They would not crack the starting lineup in most organizations. While they looked attractive on draft night, they have not come to play and the blame for selecting these players fall on Malloy's head.'

The USAFL is expecting a large New York contingent to be at the 2119 Rookie Draft. Some fans are thinking this may be Malloy's last chance to draft a superstar, even though former first round pick Gary Sams is turning out to be a star.

'We're just hoping Malloy makes the right move and brings in a guy that can be the next big thing.' McCord says, who will be in the fan section at the draft. 'We've been waiting for that player for a long time that can bring us back to the playoffs for years on end.'
