John Howfield cashes in

Pre-Season 2129 (Houston, TX) - The Houston Texans announced that just before the start of the season, they inked defensive end John Howfield to a contract that will pay him $12 million a season and keep him out of the free agent market next season.

Howfield was the 54th player taken in the supplemental draft in 2124 and has been a stellar camp performer, earning his way into the into the starting line up in only his third season after being the back up defensive tackle for one year. As the second defensive end for the last 3 seasons, he has recorded 14 sacks, a number he plans to double this season alone.
