Third Musketeer Revealed

Giants Roll Dice, Make Blockbuster Deal To Move Up
By "Andrew Andrews"

Off-Season 2134 (Albany, NY) - The Giants wasted no time in trying to make waves in an offseason that's been full of them so far.

Hot on the heels of the surprising 7-7 season the Giants had in 2133, GM Joe Malloy wanted to build on the success. However, scouts reported to him that there was a special talent in the draft that was too good to pass up, and that there would be no way that he would fall to the #8 spot in the draft.

'I pored over footage of this guy for an entire day.' Malloy said. 'He's a special player, and I decided that I needed to do something to make an impact. I know that I can still build on my success from last season, and I plan on doing so, but I needed to do whatever I can in order to move up and take this player.'

After brief negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens for the #1 pick fell through, Malloy was relieved that the Ravens were intent on selecting Defensive End Glenn Flynn with the #1 pick.

'He's certainly a special player in his own right, but we weren't really looking for help on the defensive line. I trust the guys that are there right now. I was relieved, because the guy we were looking at was still on the board.' Malloy said.

Malloy then offered a similar deal to what he was about to offer Baltimore to the Cincinatti Bengals for the #2 pick. After some thought, the Bengals agreed to trade down in order to pick up six picks.

'It's a king's ransom. I know I'm crazy.' Malloy said, 'but the player I'm about to introduce could very well be a superstar for years to come. Much like Todd Lombard before him, and Mike Ervins a couple of seasons ago, I am expecting this man to be a huge force in acquiring some championship hardware.'

With that said, Malloy introduced the man he signed to be the #2 overall pick in the draft.

'Ladies and gentlemen, the Third Musketeer, out of the university of Southern California: Linebacker, Danny Gilbert.'
