Bills Lock Up Stafford Forever

Strangest contract in the history of the USAFL
By "Jim Kelly IV"

Pre-Season 2134 (Orchard Park, NY) - The Buffalo Bills announced today they have designated QB Bruce Stafford a Franchise Player. Stafford will receive the FP3 designation but his contract will pay him 8mil a year for the rest of his life. You read that correctly. The Bills are so happy and relieved to have found a franchise QB, that they've guaranteed to pay him until he dies.

'This franchise his a rich history of players at the quarterback position' said GM Mark Ricotta. 'But we've struggled lately to find the caliber of player we're used to. That is until Bruce was drafted. We feel he'll justify the contract. Besides, it's not like he's found the fountain of youth like us GM's have. And we'll probably restructure when he's 62. I think his cap hit in 2172 will be in the low 3 million, so we'll want to get that down a little bit more.'

Word around One Bills Drive is that another contract may be signed by the end of business tomorrow. We'll have breaking news as it becomes available.
