Too Much Salary Forces Rebuild
By "Eddie Harlow"

Off-Season 2152 (Baltimore, MD) - 'It's nice to have a lot of assets; unfortunately, our team's experience has outgrown it's salary capabilities.' Thus started GM Mark Thul's press conference announcing the plans for a Raven team-wide rebuild.

'We have some of the top players in the league, but we don't have the means to keep them all together. It became clear that, in order to make it under the cap, we'd have to unload from the offensive line; a place where we couldn't afford to unload.'

Indeed, Rick Carmichael's $21 million per year contract was the only available asset to move once the signings of Coleman, Yarber, and Capers had been finalized. Rumors are that Carmichael and veteran OL Tim Osbourne have been tentatively traded.

So what about the recently signed free agents? Well, two were originally from the Ravens, but the signing of HB Antonio Capers had many people scratching their heads, wondering if Capers was regretting his decision.

'Naw, man. I know the Ravens are a class organization, and I expect to be leading them right back up to the top.'

The Ravens insist they aren't interested in a long-drought. 'We're going to implement an exciting brand of football here. We're going to perfect the spread offense and get it right.'

Time will tell what GM Thul can do back that up.
