Off-Season 2157 (Charlotte) - The Carolina Panthers have basically purged their team of veterans this offseason, and the team's general manager says it is time for their draft picks the past several seasons to make a difference.

'It is time for those young players to start earning their salaries,' Panthers GM 'Trader' Lee Remley commented when asked about the virtual completion of the veteran purge this offseason. 'We made these kids Panthers for a reason. It's time for them to show us why.'

With an expected .500 club a disappointing 4-10 last season, Remley completed the process of trading or releasing veterans with very few exceptions this offseason. Now we will see how the young players who have been learning and backing the veterans up respond to prime time duty.

'I'm excited to see these kids play with the big boys,' Remley said, a sentiment shared by new head coach Jim Mason.

The folks selling tickets hope Panthers fans will agree.
