'We're comin for ya!' McLemore says

Bengals QB puts his new division rivals on notice
By "Who Dey"

Off-Season 2160 (Cincinnati) - 'We're comin' for ya!'

Followed by a generous cackle, that was how many players on the Cincinnati Bengals new division rivals in Miami, Buffalo, Balimtore, and Pittsburgh were greeted early in the morning by Bengals QB Courtney McLemore and his holophone recently.

Cincinnati's new favorite son wasted no time calling up his new rivals (and rumor has it that included coaches and GMs) and saying hello. Brash ever since his days on the USC campus out on LA Island, McLemore has never backed down from some friendly trash talking.

After being drafted by the Panthers out of USC, he would often call up fellow QB draftee Joe Brady early in the morning after getting to work.

'It's five a.m., dude, I'm in the house, where are you?' McLemore would say. 'You're the big time draft pick, man. You're gonna lose your job cause I'm gonna take it.'

Courtney did exactly that as Brady was traded to the Redskins (now Saints) after he won the starting job over Brady when veteran Travis Zimmerman moved on.

'It's not bragging if you back it up,' is one of McLemore's favorite sayings.

After having a breakout type season last season, cutting down on his interceptions and leading the then Panthers to seven wins, Courtney has never been more confident.

Given the chance in free agency to leave for what some might consider a better team in Tampa Bay, McLemore re-upped with the Bengals for $7 million per year.

'Trader's been getting me some pieces the last few years,' McLemore says. 'We're getting them trained up and now I can use them. Our defense is getting stout. We're gonna make some noise.'

Now the Bengals only need to help him back it up once more.
