Bengals LB signed to $8 million per year lifetime deal

Off-Season 2180 (Cincinnati) - The Cincinnati Bengals announcded today they have signed LB Cliff Lucas to a FP3 contract, designating him as a franchise player and guaranteeing him $8 million per year for the rest of his career.

'Cliff has done everyhting we expected and more after making him the fifth overall pick in the 2177 draft,' Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley said in a statement. 'We are pleased to make Cliff our first franchise player in a few seasons.'

Lucas was both surprised and pleased.

'I am glad the tream has such confidence in me,' Lucas said at the press conference announcing the signing. 'And it's great to get to double your pay,' he added with a grin.

After 95 tackles and 15 sacks in his breakout season last year, Bengals fans will be pleased to see Lucas in stripes the rest of his career.
