Bengals hire Assistant GM

Patterson joins Bengals
By "Who Dey"

Off-Season 2187 (Cincinnati ) - Cincinnati Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley has always been known for ruling his empire with an iron fist, alone, answering to no one, micro-managing the whole organization. He has never had an assistant GM. He didn't even care for dealing with the team's owners back in the day.

So it was quite a surprise when the Bengals announced this week that they had hired an assistant GM.

Thomas 'Lee' Patterson comes to the Bengals with a wealth of football experience. It is thought by league followers that it must take a special football guy for Remley to take him under his wing. Or was it something else?

'Only a guy who shares my name is worthy of greatness,' Remley joked when asked at the press conference announcing the appointment.

'I think Lee will be a GM in this league, and probably pretty quickly once the owners in this league see what he can do,' Remley continued in all seriousness. 'It is my honor to have him work for us as long as we can make use of his talents before someone snatches him away for the big chair on their team.'

With the Bengals returning to the Sundby Cup once again this season for the second season in a row and their third in the last five, the new assistant GM will get to see firsthand the fruits of the labor of rebuilding a team several seasons ago.

Rumors are already rampant that a team is already watching how what the media has already dubbed 'Lee Squared' perform the next few seasons to see if Patterson is ready for prime
time GM duty.
