Off-Season 2189 (Cincinnati) - The Cincinnati Bengals announced last week that they have slapped the franchise tag on LB Mark 'Alley' McNeal, guaranteeing him a salary of $12 million per season the rest of his career.

'McNeal is a beast,' Assistant GM Lee Patterson said at the press conference announcing the move. 'With his speed and strength, plus his ability to play every down, Mark deserves this contract.'

Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley was vacationing in Japan and unavailable for comment.

McNeal has been very productive in Cincinnati, especially last season where he garnered nine sacks along with his 76 tackles.

With young Morris Stacy and veteran Cliff Lucas alongside him, Cincinnati has one of the best linebacking tandems in the USAFL.
