#1 Pick Rosenbach Arrives at Camp

Will the kid be behind center on opening day?

Pre-Season 2082 (Minneapolis, MN) - All the focus at Vikings camp today was on QB Mike Rosenbach as he arrived for his first day on the job. The question is still out on what exactly his job will be this season. Will he be thrown out there from day one to learn on job for a team that has won 28 games the last three seasons and considers itself a Cup contender? Or will he be backing up Freddie Daniels, who has as much experience as a USAFL quarterback as Rosenbach does...exactly zero. 'We will have a true competition in training camp,' explains Minnesota head coach Jeff Mastin. 'The job is wide-open right now and whoever has the better camp will be out there week one and will be our quarterback.'

Odds are that Daniels may likely be the starter come opening day. Although the front office loves what Rosenbach brings to the table, it's apparent that this team is built to win now. 'Daniels is ready to become the starter and has been waiting several years for this opportunity,' one unnamed league scout said when asked what he thought about the situation. 'Don't expect him to squander it to a brash young kid.' But even the veteran leadership of quarterback North George, who retired this offseason, was not enough to get this team to another Sundby Cup. The team may be looking to inject some life and youthful exuberance into the offense. But, for now Rosenbach just has to survive his first two-a-day practice.
