Off-Season 2190 (Cincinnati) - The Cincinnati Bengals announced today that they have franchised five year linebacker Morris Stacy, guaranteeing him $12 million per year the rest of his career.

'Since being chosen as the sixth pick overall in the 2185 draft, Morris has been a steady influence on our defense,' Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley said in an announcement. 'We are pleased to have him locked up the rest of his career.'

Paired with another franchise player, linebacker Mark McNeal, the Bengals have two stud linebackers locked up for their entire careers and a solid presence on their defense for years to come.

Stacy was surprised at the offer. 'Man, I was blown away,' the defender who moves like a jungle cat told the assembled media. 'When the boss gave me that contract, I cried like a baby. I've worked hard all my life for this.'

But even with the positive press conference came more questions about former assistant GM Lee Patterson, who was recently named the GM of the Eagles.

'You people don't understand plain English?' Remley replied, chastising the media. 'What part of 'We wish him well in his future endeavors' don't you understand?' After pausing for effect, he continued. 'We supported him every step of the way. In fact, I recommended him for the Philadelphia job. He's a tremendous talent and they are lucky to have him.'

So there you have it. The Bengals have another anchor on their defense, and Philly has a new GM.
