Miffed in Miami

Playoffs 2082 (Miami Beach, FL) - Rumors are flying of a bust-up in the Miami Front Office. The rumor is General Manager Mike Morton and Assistant General Manager Lee Remley had a closed door meeting where things were very heated, ending up with Remley leaving the office and a door was slammed.

The reported cause was QB Willie Johnson's unhappiness at the progress Miami has been made in their title hopes. How does Remley tie into it? Lee has been in charge of bringing in new players and hasn't been able to sign any players in the Free Agent market, but has notably done well in the waiver wire. Johnson wants more marquis players and felt that Remley was being too 'tight' in offerings to potential offensive linemen.

GM Morton released a 'No Comment' statement, then later said ' Everything is fine, it was all blown out of proportion. Lee has done wonders with new players via trades and waiver wires and the draft. He is a big reason the Dolphins have made the playoffs. We talked it out and everything is fine'.

Rumors of a spiff between the managers goes back to 2079, when Remley suggested starting HB Abrahim Criswell over previous Rookie of the year Rhett McPheeters. Remley then admitted it might have not been the best decision and rewarded McPheeters with the starting position in 2080.

Remley was vacationing on the Gulf coast at the time of the report and was unavailable for comment.
