New Kids On the Street

Off-Season 2212 (Tampa Bay, FL) - No, this isn't the next boy band. Or, if it was, you definitely wouldn't want to hear them sing. They are, however, one of the most talented group of youngsters in the league.

When GM Addam Brown made a splash by trading away a lot of their talent last year and loaded up on picks some were scratching their heads. Most analysts said last years draft was average and didn't have impactful players like years past but Brown saw potential. 'Are you kidding me? After that draft I was giddy. And after training camp I couldn't have been happier. Out of our top 10 picks only Price didn't really show the talent where we drafted him. There were some gems in there that surprised us, too. We knew Wooden would be a horse but Cathon and Dyer have some moves. We drafted Wilkerson in the 1st round but Gardner came out of nowhere as a walk on and has impressed. And Aldridge looks like he can give us the nose tackle we've been looking for.

Fast forward to the 2212 draft that was just completed. GM Brown was full of energy before the start but by the end sparks were flying between himself and GM Lee Remley. 'Remley! Remley?! Let me tell you something about that guy. I fired my head coach because of him. Seriously, how does someone know exactly who you're set to pick right before you do? And he did it twice! All I know is he's still using the West Coast scheme and he didn't need two tight ends. I also know he's on my list. I'm not talking about the list that gets you a Christmas card in December, either. I'll still trade with the guy and talk at the off-season owner's meeting but when we get on the field…watch your head Remley. I'll say this, though, even with Cincy's spy in our war room we still got some great picks. How Dove fell to us at the 5th pick is astounding and getting guys like Miller, Cadigan, and Davis we should be burying guys real soon. If Ware and Hewitt can join Stallworth and Carlton in the defensive back field I like our chances to get back to the top.'

'Now about that coaching position. I'll just make the announcement right now. As soon as I determined that the old head coach might've been compromised I reached out to an old friend. Tampa Bay is happy to announce the return of Erik Kline and he's accepted the position of head coach for this team. We believe he has the leadership and skills to coach this group to greatness,' said GM Brown. With that statement this reporter was speechless. Bringing back one of the greatest running backs in the modern era to coach what may be one of the next? These are exciting times in the Bay and this is what keeps the fans coming back. Kline already has two Sundby's under his belt. Can he get there again as a coach? Only time will tell.
