Cincinnati guard gets franchise contract for the rest of his career

Off-Season 2224 (Cincinnati) - The Cincinnati Bengals announced this morning that they have hit fifth year guard Eric Matthews with the franchise tag, guaranteeing him $12 million per year for the remainder of his career.

Drafted seventh overall by the Bengals in the 2219 draft, Matthews has become one of the mainstays of a young BEnglas team that pulled off the surprise of the 2223 season, surprising even their GM with their performance.

'These young guys have matured a lot sooner than we expected, and that is due to mainstays like Eric,' GM 'Trader' Lee Remley said when the team announced the signing. 'We are happy he will be a Bengal for the rest of his career.
