Cincinnati signs DT to franchise player contract

Off-Season 2233 (Cincinnati) - The Cincinnati Bengals signed defensive tackle Danny Pruitt to a FP3 franchise player contact today, guaranteeing him $8 million for the rest of his career.

Taken with the eighth pick in the third round of the 2230 draft, Pruitt was not on many teams radar coming out of LSU. But Bengals Owner and GM 'Trader' Lee Remley took a chance on him, and he is paying off handsomely now.

'We think Danny will be one of the cornerstones of our young team,' Remley said during the press conference announcing the signing. 'I look forward to seeing the rest of the team grow around him.'
