Bengals LB is their newest franchise player

Off-Season 2235 (Cincinnati) - The Cincinnati Bengals announced that LB Don Hooks is their newest franchise player, signing a FP3 contract that will guarantee him a salary of $8 million the rest of his career.

Taken with the final pick of the first round in the 2232 draft, Hooks was an unlikely candidate to be a franchise player given many of the recent higher picks have not worked out, a fact that GM 'Trader' Lee Remley attributes to a 'league conspiracy to keep the Bengals from having an effective young offensive line and returning to prominence.'

'Don is a talented young player and has room to grow,' Remley said at the press conference to announce the signing. 'He will be a fixture around here for years to come.'

Hooks was quite surprised and happy that he got the tag. 'I am glad they think so much of me,' Hooks said. 'Doubling your salary is never a bad thing.'
