Hawks head for 2234 rematch, after knocking off defending champs

Kimballs squad bests his mentor

Playoffs 2238 (Seattle) - Dan Kimball is quick to tell you the most painful loss of his career. 'Its pretty easy, considering it was my only time in the Sundby Cup. It was a little harder to swallow that season though, because we sort of felt like a team of destiny'. Its easy to understand why, as during those playoffs, the Seahawks beat BOTH Ricotta brothers on the road enroute to the title game. One of them, a game against the heavily favored Buffalo Bills, in what would be their only playoff loss in a 7 year span. New Orleans had other plans however... 'We were pretty well dominated in that game, despite the close final score. They had their way with us.' Kimball said.

This time, the path was once again through the defending champs...only this time it was at home. It was 2 crucial 2nd half turnovers that helped spring them to victory, over Kimballs first boss. 'I always root for the Bengals, unless they play us. I wont say it was bitter sweet to beat them, because it wasnt...but I have a lot of respect for Lee and the program they run over there.'

It will be the final game for linebacker Jay Lynn, after 12 seasons. Mostly losing seasons. 'We took him #2 overall...I remember it like it was just about 10 months ago. He put up with a lot of losing in those early days. It would be nice to send him out with a ring.'

Tonight we will see if that happens
