A fine fullback

Mainstay FB Bert Fine given release by Bengals
By "Porsche Lynn Commode"

Off-Season 2239 (Cincinnati) - The Cincinnati Bengals final cut to get down to 53 was a mild surprise, as 11 year veteran FB Bert Fine was cut to get down to the roster limit.

Signed as an undrafted college free agent in 2228, Fine became the lead blocker in an offense which had halfback Scott Gary become a star running behind him.

'These things are always tough,' GM 'Trader' Lee Remley. 'Bert was a fine block of granite here for several years. But we had a lot of young backs on the roster, and Bill Donovan is going to be a great fullback, so we let Bert go.'

Fine wasn't out of a job long, picked up off waivers by the Houston Texans (good luck with that) who have quite a dearth at the position.

So who knows, maybe well hear more from Bert before he hangs them up.
