Off-Season 2248 (Charlotte) - The Cincinnati Bengals today gave offensive lineman Rich Lewis a franchise player contract, guaranteeing him $8 million a year for the rest of his career.

Drafted #2 overall in the 2245 USAFL draft, Lewis has not yet started a game in a loaded offensive line room, but has shown great skills, and is slated to be the starter at right guard this season.

'Rich Lewis is one of the keystones to this team's future,' Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley said from his winter home in Charlotte, NC. 'We look forward to him being a Bengal for the rest of his career.'

Lewis took it all in stride.

'Well, being the second pick in the draft, this is what is expected of me, and I intend to deliver,' Lewis said. 'I'm glad to get a nice contract though. I can go to someplace like Aruba on vacation in the offseason now!'
