Skinner signs fat contract

Bengals linebacker gets big free agent deal

Off-Season 2250 (Cincinnati ) - The Cincinnati Bengals announced today that they have signed linebacker Scott Skinner to a $18 million per year free agent deal, matching the bid from Philadelphia.

Skinner was drafted eighth overall in the 2244 draft, and has been a consistent performer on what is now a solid defense coming off a Sunday Cup win.

Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley seemed a bit relieved after the signing announcement.

'Scott deserved the big contract with the way he has performed during his career, ' Remley said in an honest moment. 'Actually, I am a bit surprised we didn't have to deal with more of our players getting free agent offers, considering we won the whole shooting match last season.'

So now the Bengals can turn their attention to more on field matters, such as seeing how Skinner handles the move to middle linebacker with the retirement of Reggie Price, how Eric Harden looks at outisde linebacker, and how Tim West does as the new starting halfback.

If anyone was expecting this organization to rest on their laurels, they were dead wrong.
