Sources: Remley seen meeting with businessmen in Charlotte

Bengals GM seen in North Carolina

Off-Season 2271 (Cincinnati) - A local news source has reported that Cincinnati Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley was seen in the city of Charlotte having cigars and scotch with several influential Southern businessmen who reside in the city.

The fact that the city of Cincinnati just shut the door on the team's desire for a new stadium makes this an interesting development.

When asked at his offices at the stadium last night, Remley did not deny it and also didn't say what it meant.

'I have known these gentlemen since our franchise was located there years ago,' Remley said. 'I wouldn't read anything into it other than that. But if we have something to announce, you will hear it from us first.'

So it wasn't a denial. Does that imply that there might indeed be something to announce? This sends shock waves through the region.

This saga has not played out well for the city of Cincinnati, who may lose their team because of a mayor who has been totally unreasonable with the needs of his local tenants. I think it is now safe to say this will be Kwai Chang Chung's last term as mayor.

More on this story as it develops.
